OUTCASTS AND MISFITS WITH GOOD NEWS TO TELL- Tonight at Family Worship Center, Crossfire Pastor Paris Ragan reads II Kings 7:3-9 preaching on the good news every believer possesses because of faith in Jesus Christ. He shares a story of sacrifice, where Swedish missionary David Flood, lost his wife Svea to malaria while in the Belgian Congo in Africa in the 1920’s. Pastor Paris shows us, even through the disappointments and trials of life, God is able to do the impossible. He encourages us to sow seeds of faith in Jesus Christ because we never know when those seeds will grow. We see in this scripture, Israel is in a desperate state, just as this missionary, and all of mankind. Pastor Paris likens the lepers who had to sit outside of the city, to many in the church today. They were outcasts, but they went to take over the enemy’s camp, and God emboldened them by making the four men sound like a mighty army approaching the Syrians, so the Syrians ran and they were victorious. God has invested a great price in us, and we cannot hide it. We must go and tell the good news of Jesus Christ to the lost. Because we are born again, by faith in Jesus Christ, Pastor Paris says believers should be multiplying because we heed the gospel call to tell others this good news we have been given. The gospel should not produce a mindset of self-centeredness; but rather, it produces a mindset of servant hood. We are called to present ourselves as a living sacrifice.
