Any sin in a believer’s life grieves the Holy Spirit. Today on The Message of the Cross, Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart and panel read Ephesians 4:30 discussing how we are called to a new life. We must not turn back to ways of the old man. If the Holy Spirit is grieved enough, we can quench the moving of the Spirit in our lives. When we come to Christ we, we are made one with Him; here, we are washed, sanctified, and justified. We are immediately set apart for God, and have been separated from the power of sin. Our old man is crucified with Christ, and the attributes of our new man should come naturally. This victory can only come by grace and faith in the finished work of Christ alone and not by our own works. (2 Peter 1:3)
